Kong Treat Bone

Santa came early this year...

We decided against the tug-a-jug for Coco. I really think it's a cute toy, but Miguel pointed out that it is not recommended for strong chewers. Since the jug itself is so hard, I'm worried she might crack a tooth on it in her haste to get at the goodies inside. So, I went looking for an alternative.

I decided that I wanted something that I could stick a treat in. I like the idea of a puzzle toy, or at least a toy that will keep her busy for a few minutes since she has so much burst energy. Since she enjoys her nylabone so much, I figured that part of the charm of a good toy was something that was good to chew and easy to hold onto. So I went and got her the Kong Goodie Bone.

I gotta be honest though, it's not as great as I thought it would be. First off, it's too easy for her to get treats out of the holders in the side. I got some dog biscuits and really jammed them into the rubber holders, but maybe because they bone is flexible she really just had to crunch down on the edge and the treats came out. The holders are good for the Kong paste, but really, her regular Kong does that just fine. And although she seems to enjoy running around the house with the Goodie bone in her mouth, she really just goes to her nylabone for a good strong chew. So I'm going to have to give this toy 2/5 stars. Although quite durable, it's not enticing enough for her to chew on. I was hoping to have something like a combinatin of nylabone and treat dispenser. So many dreams so little time!

It's back to the drawing board for this one! I have some leads on some other toys so all is not lost. As an update, Coco LOVES her new bed. I keep finding her snoring in it in a myriad of different positions. I tried to find another bed like it online, so that I could post a picture and give a location on where to buy it, but alas, it must be last year's model and hence the reason Target had it on sale. Too bad, so sad.

Ciao!
